Katie Conrad
Katie is a senior majoring in Public Relations and minoring in business. She has shadowed and interned with local firms and businesses including VisitFlorida and BevShots.
Over the summer Katie was the Development Intern with the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Central and Northern Florida. She worked alongside the Special Events Director and helped with the logistics of fundraising events. While here, she wrote several “wish stories” featuring children and their recent wishes. One of her stories was featured on the Make-A-Wish’s homepage!
“This was one of the most rewarding experiences. It made my job easier knowing the cause I worked for. Seeing each child’s excitement during their wish made the long hours worthwhile,” Katie said.
As for the next chapter in her life, Katie wants to move to New York City. Here she would love to work with a PR Firm, specifically with special events.
“I love putting on a performance and I view events in a similar way. You prepare, plan and practice for weeks until it all comes down to the event. It’s exciting!”
Katie has been a member of FPRA for the past 3 years. FPRA taught Katie many principles which she used for her internships. She is excited about the opportunities this year will bring.
